Tear trough filler

Tear trough filler

Under eye dark circle filler or tear trough filler is one of our most popular treatments with fantastic results.
Tear troughs are depressions which run from the medial part of the eye and all around under the eye. As we age facial skin becomes thinner and we lose soft tissue volume below the eye. The outcome of this are dark circles below the eyes which get worse over time resulting in tired and old appearance (“panda look”).

These dark circles can be easily treated with dermal fillers specially designed to treat sensitive eye area. This is an advanced treatment for which either needle or a blunt cannula can be used. We prefer to use cannula technique as it decreases bruising risk which is extremely important when treating sensitive areas such as under eye area because you certainly do not want to have hematomas under your eyes for a week following your treatment.

It is important to point out that the loss of soft tissue support in the mid cheek area contributes to the under eye dark circle formation. For this reason, in order to achieve the best possible results, it is often necessary to treat mid cheek first and then the tear trough/under eye area.

Most of our clients do not feel any kind of discomfort or pain during tear trough treatment.

There is no need any more for heavy makeup to cover dark undereye circles. The treatment is very quick and in only 10-15 minutes you can get rid of annoying dark circles and restore lost fresh and youthful appearance. The results last from 9-12 months.

In some individuals with under eye bags (sagging skin), this treatment would not be recommended as surgery may be a better option.

The most common side effects of the treatment are minor swelling and bruising which are temporary and usually go away within a week. To minimize the swelling, it is recommended to avoid sports activity for at least up to 24 hours after the treatment.

Severe complications like pigmentation or blindness are exceptionally rare and are the reason why this advanced procedure should be carried out only by certified aesthetic doctors.
